 Mark Your Calendar Ottawa!

The Career Reboot Group has a Great Talk lined up for Monday October 26th, 2015.

 Tapping the Hidden Job Market:
Taking the Fear out of Networking.

Join Michelle Schafer as she explains the ABCs of Networking.

Networking is about building relationships, and talking to people around you about your job search. You already build relationships every day - whether you speak to someone in line ahead of you in the grocery store, or introduce yourself to a new neighbour, or meet a friend of a friend. Networking for work builds on these same interactions. The vast majority of job openings are never advertised - they are filled by word-of-mouth. This session will help you become a more confident networker - and will help you tap into the "hidden" job market.

In this session, you will learn how to:
  • create a list of potential network contacts
  • prepare for a networking meeting
  • promote your skills/experience and ask effective questions that get you the information you need
  • ask for new contacts in order to grow your base
  • follow up with impact and appreciation
  • keep track of your contacts, their information and outcomes of meetings

Hey Ottawa

Hey Ottawa Folks!

If you're unhappy with your current job but are finding it difficult to access the resources and support needed to help improve your situation, you've come to the right place!

Best of all it's FREE!!

The Career Reboot Group is a gathering of people just like you, who are looking for a more fulfilling career.

The Ottawa region has a lot of resources available to job-seekers, but the workshops and centers are typically only available throughout the day and regular business hours.  Working full time can make it difficult to access these valuable resources.

The Career Reboot Group meets in the evening and brings in speakers to discuss topics of interest and to provide information and guidance.

The Next Meeting is
October 26, 2015 at 6:30pm - 8:00pm
at the Emerald Plaza branch
of the Ottawa Public Library
1547 Merivale Road.

The topic for the evening will be Networking

More information to coming soon.
